You can count on us to not only bring an exceptional level of strategic, risk management and governance skills to the table, but a willingness to roll up our sleeves and work directly with all stakeholders to ensure the project’s success.
Setting strategic direction
Your project needs a solid strategy to guide every decision and action that follows. Together, we’ll plan and map out the outcomes that matter most to you – honing in on clear, measurable objectives and a well-defined scope.
- how, when, and who you procure to deliver tangible project outcomes
- the way resources are managed for maximum efficiency
- how potential risks are identified and managed
- how project progress is monitored and controlled
- how timelines and budgets are effectively coordinated
It will also help to keep stakeholders aligned with project objectives and progress; allowing everyone to make informed and confident decisions as the project moves along its path to completion.
Sectors
While the fundamentals of great project management don’t change, we will always adapt our approach to meet the unique needs of our clients within their industry. We have offices in Canberra, Sydney and Perth and the ability to engage nationally.
Project scheduling for smooth execution
Scheduling is foundational to project success because it provides structure and ensures milestones are met on time.
- consider all variables – allocating resources when and where they are needed
- orchestrate the right people with the right skills at the right time – matching expertise with needs and aligning teams for optimal performance
- manage interdependencies – recognising how tasks and teams rely on each other at various project intervals
- map key drivers and milestones – so we can always measure progress
With this approach, we ensure every aspect of your project is well-managed and moving forward as expected.
We know how to manage risk
Every project has risks that can undermine its success, but it’s how you identify and manage those risks that matters.
Throughout the project, solid project controls and governance go a long way to help reduce the potential for new risks to arise – be they technical, financial, resource-related, or anything else that could threaten its success. When unplanned situations occur, we’re ready to adapt and steer the project in the right direction so you stay in control no matter what comes your way.
Genuine guidance and support
When you engage project management consultants, you don’t want rigid off-the-shelf solutions, but genuine guidance and flexible support. You also don’t want suits who will bark orders from the sidelines – you want real people who will roll up their sleeves and work directly with your project team.
We want you to feel fully supported, empowered, and ready to tackle any challenge as your project moves from idea to implementation.

A seamless procurement process
Engaged by: Federal government department.
To deliver: Procurement expertise and support to lay strong foundations for a major maritime project.
Our approach: Involved from the earliest stages, we led the strategic planning for the tender process and contract establishment. This involved significant stakeholder engagement, and resulted in the provision of:
- a tender strategy
- a procurement strategy
- a tender evaluation plan and method
- evaluation criteria and team instructions
- reporting templates, processes, and tools.
Throughout the project, we worked to ensure governance standards were upheld and communication between tenderers and stakeholders was smooth and productive. We monitored responses, responded to clarifying questions, developed addendums, and managed the flow of information.
During contract negotiations, we assisted our client’s internal team to develop the final evaluation report ready for approval and contract award.
Manage a complex maritime project
Engaged by: Federal government department.
To deliver: End-to-end project management and support for a new capability in a specialised maritime domain.
Our approach: This highly complex project involved developing strategies that would:
- address immediate project needs and broader strategic goals
- cater to the rapidly evolving requirements
- be innovative yet feasible and enable a clear roadmap for delivery.
Together with detailed plans and interdependency documents, these strategies supported the business case which secured approval and funding.
On commencement, we developed an integrated master schedule to map the project’s critical path. This aided precise monitoring of project milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resources. Regular business performance reviews ensured ongoing alignment with the project’s strategic goals.
We also led an extensive request for information process – involving widespread collaboration with government stakeholders, and domestic and international industry partners. This required cultivating trust with experts across various domains from diverse global companies to garner valuable insights for our client.
Other key aspects of this project included:
- overseeing classified briefings
- planning events with strict security protocols
- establishing risk management frameworks
- implementing governance frameworks
- leading project forums and workshops
- supporting change management.
Our expertise enabled us to propose solutions to complex challenges that would maintain constancy with objectives while navigating constraints. This meant the project remained on track and maintained its strategic direction, even under challenging circumstances.
Project manage a series of high-profile public events
Engaged by: Federal government department.
To deliver: Comprehensive project management including extensive stakeholder engagement, event management, and public communications.
Our approach: We were engaged to manage a program of high-profile public events for our government client.
The engagement began with the development of a project management plan, risk management plan, schedules, and a detailed communications plan which provided a strategic roadmap for:
- consistent messaging
- stakeholder engagement
- media outreach.
Budget management was critical, so we collaborated closely with our client to establish annual budgets that were then subject to strict ongoing financial governance and oversight.
Stakeholder engagement was central to the project’s success and involved internal stakeholders, as well as community groups and external vendors to develop a shared vision for the events.
Throughout the project, extensive community engagement allowed us to maximise participation and public awareness. We supported the development of promotional materials, coordinated outreach campaigns, and facilitated dialogue with key community organisations.
During the events, we were hands-on and assisted with set-up, coordination, and execution. This demanded meticulous logistical planning, real-time problem solving, and close collaboration with local authorities, community representatives, and service providers to ensure smooth execution.
Once the program was complete, detailed end-of-project reports helped set the stage for improved future project planning and execution for our client.
Strengthening a QMS to meet accreditation standards
Engaged by: Federal government department.
To deliver: A revised quality management system (QMS) for assurance that ISO 9001 accreditation would be retained.
Our approach: We deployed Geodetica personnel with quality management, engineering, and project management expertise to support this uplift. This was necessary as the area’s core activities involve delivering complex engineering programs requiring unique plans, processes, and work instructions.
The project began with a thorough review of outstanding issues identified in previous internal audits, and our own investigation. We discovered a need for new initiatives to improve quality systems, streamline processes like issue tracking and audits, and standardise workflows with clear instructions.
We presented our findings, which included the:
- current state of the QMS
- risks associated with gaps in governance and assurance processes
- remediation work required to address these issues
- recommendations for the ongoing resourcing and operation of the QMS.
This was subsequently endorsed and our recommendations given priority.
The QMS now runs smoothly thanks to its robust processes and clear work instructions. An external re-certification audit of the QMS confirmed the retention of ISO 9001 accreditation.
The appointment and upskilling of an internal staff member to oversee the QMS has also ensured its sustained quality, with the Geodetica team providing advice as needed.
